Ramsden International supports local Boxing Academy

Cleethorpes Trinity Boxing Academy have received a donation of £250 from Grimsby-based grocery exporter, Ramsden International, to help towards the running costs of their classes.

Boxing Academy Donation

The Boxing Academy, based at The Trin Centre on Trinity Road, is part of Cleethorpes Community Sports and Education (CCSE), a charity committed to providing leisure activities for young adults in the local community, including those with behavioural difficulties and mental health problems.

While the donation from Ramsden International will be used towards boxing classes, CCSE also provide activities such as football, family quizzes, DJ workshops, art sessions, cooking classes and online learning.

Andy Cox, Chief Executive of CCSE said: “We’re extremely grateful for the support we’ve received from Ramsden International. Being part of a charity, activities are run by volunteers and we rely solely on donations, sponsorships and grants to cover the running costs of the facility.

“We provide around 10 boxing classes a week for all ages and abilities, so Ramsden International’s contribution will help towards equipment, kits, training courses, safeguarding and first aid classes.”

Ramsden International’s Managing Director, Akhtar Zahid, said: “After hearing about the fantastic support CCSE offer to those in our local community, I was instantly interested in how we could get involved.

“After visiting The Trin Centre and witnessing the amazing work that goes on there, we decided to donate to the Boxing Academy division of the organisation. I’m really impressed by how many facilities there are under one roof and being a keen boxer myself, I’ve even decided to join the Boxing Academy.”

Ramsden International are passionate about supporting local causes and regularly give back to the community through their supplier, Nisa’s, Making a Difference Locally (MADL) scheme. The third-generation family business export over 24,000 grocery products to more than 650 customers in 133 countries worldwide.
